T60p metal casing?

#1 Post by Albert1249 » Tue Jul 07, 2009 12:26 pm

Hello all,

As I want to buy a T60p with purpose a whole metal outercasing, I started reading some reviews.
In some reviews there is being mentioned a titan (ium ) housing as with others a magnesium chassis.
Also i have seen a T60p (8741-AE5 ) and it had a whole plastic outercasing.

Are there T60p's with all metal housing aside from the inner chassis?
I.e. Are there 2 productlines of the T60p on the market; a plastic and metal outercasing line?
And if so , what modelnumbers do the metal ones have?

Thanks for answering.

Greetings,

Albert

all T60's have a magnesium inner chassis frame (inside the case)

the were no casing options on the T60 series or any Thinkpads that I am aware of.

While not a T series, the Z61 series with the titanium lid option may be close to your requirements. They are on the same i945 Napa platform as the T60 series. The Z series only came in 14.1" widescreen (Z61t) and 15.4" widescreen (Z61m) models.
