R61 trackpoint touching the screen when lid closed

Hi guys,

I guess I have got a pretty uncommon issue with a THINKPAD. The trackpoint of my R61 is touching the screening when the lid is closed. I could make this out by the impression marks on the screen.

I should mention that I carry the thinkpad in my backpack everyday, but, with a padded cover over it. It's just few months old and is still under warranty. So, will it help if I take it to a service center? Any solution or suggestion are welcome!!
