Memory Upgrade Question

#1 Post by kdasari » Tue Jul 07, 2009 8:29 pm

I have a thinkpad T60P (2008-87U) and installed 2X2GB Crucial memory sticks.

My intention was to use 3 GB memory natively in Vista 32 OS and use the remaining 1Gig as RAM Disk for pagefile.

However, Vista seem to recognize the presense of 4GB, but the physical memory in both System Information applet as well CPUZ are being reported as 2GB. If i use RAMDisk applet, it seems it is seeing 3Gig total.

Bios doesn't seem to have any options to set speed or amount of RAM either.

Any help or pointers to help me figure out how to achieve 3GB + 1 GB swap is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
KD

See the Sticky at the top of this subforum for an explanation, but the short answer is that you can't.
