X31 beeps as if power supply were disconnected

Pretty much just what the subject says.
My Dad's X31 will randomly do the two-tone beep normally heard when the power supply is disconnected from it. Only, the power supply is always attached. I'm not sure what to do about it.

Has anybody run into this problem before?

Possible. I haven't opened it up to have a look yet.

I thought maybe the power supply is flakey. Anyone ever had a flakey power supply?
Doesn't seem likely, but who knows?

It is possible and easy to check if you have a 2nd adapter.

X30/X31/X32 still use soldered AC jacks. Take a look.

I have an X30, so as long as the power supply is the same as the one used by the X31, I'll just swap them for a while.

I'll still check the solder joints too.
