Hi
I just place an order of U330
It comes with 2GB RAM and with Vista it might be too little I was wondering if anyone has ever upgrade the ram by your self.
I have upgrade mane rams on different laptop and desktop but I can not find any information which RAM company does Lenovo compare to. It takes 1066 DDR3 (PC8500) as far I know it has 2 slot and I am assuming 1GB per slot as a factory standard so in order to upgrade to 4GB I probably have to buy 2x2GB Ram
Neweggs have them at decent price on crucial 1066 ddr3. I wonder this might do the trick or does Lenovo has some quirky thing about using after marker chips? U330 with 4GB ram cost way too much just to upgrade the ram.
Laptop should be here in a week so I like to order the ram before it comes.
I would hate to downgrade to WINXp due to RAM issue.
Thanks for the help
Scott
U330 RAM Upgrade Question
Re: U330 RAM Upgrade Question
Why don't you try it out and see how it goes. You may find 2GB is plenty. I have 2GB of memory on my Vista desktop. It seems to do alright. I'd say unless you've got a specific need and maybe you do, 2GB is sufficient. If at some point you decide you need to upgrade, it's easy to do.
