Hello All,
I was wondering if you guys can help me with a problem I'm having with my wireless card. Whenever I try installing the drivers for it, I get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD when the computer tries accessing the wireless device. Now I've downloaded the drivers from the Lenovo website and tried reinstalling it but this error pops up:
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless Network Connection software is unable to install. Please verify that a "Found New Hardware" dialog box is not open and the installer is only launched once.
There is no "Found New Hardware" box and I am completely stumped as to why this error pops up. Could this be a hardware problem? If so, does that mean I need to get a new wireless card?
Thinkpad Specs:
IBM T41 2379-DJU
1.6 GHz Processor
1.25 GB Ram
Windows XP Professional SP3
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with wireless card
Re: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with wireless card
The original specs for the machine list the wifi card as being an "Intel 802.11b wireless(MPCI)". Is that the card currently in the machine?
If yes, the correct driver is here.

Re: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with wireless card
Yes original specs. I've downloaded the drivers from the Lenovo Website and also through the Access Connections software and the problem still persists. I followed the installation instructions and this error:
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless Network Connection software is unable to install. Please verify that a "Found New Hardware" dialog box is not open and the installer is only launched once.
still shows up when I try to install the driver. I've tried going in the Device Manager to install the driver and this "works" in the sense that the computer will find the driver and install it, but once I try accessing the wireless device (to find the closest wireless point), my computer goes BSOD and I get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. Then with subsequent reboots, I will constantly get the same BSOD whenever the computer tries to access the wireless during the start up.

Re: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with wireless card
Hey I think it works! Thanks! I think what may have happened is that the original drivers are corrupt for whatever reason so I just had to manually select the new ones. Hopefully it'll be okay! Whew
