X30 Wireless Aironet 350 Sees Networks but Wont Connect

#1 Post by bartelby » Sun Jul 12, 2009 7:58 am

I have installed Open Suse 10.3 on my X30. The Aironet 350 wireless client can see wireless networks, but will not connect to them. What am I doing wrong?

If this is not a readily soluble problem, are there cheap wireless PCI that will work with my installed version of linux without too much fiddling around? Which cards?

Thanks,

Bartelby

Have you hooked your x30 with an ethernet cable to your router? You may need to download some packages to get your card working. When I first installed Ubuntu (not sure about Open Suse) I had to hard connect my T30 to download all necessary updates. After the update my wireless card was working.

One other thing. If your encryption is set to WPA - the Aironet 350 could not connect with my router using that encryption. It would only connect with WEP. I've since put my Aironet 350 in a drawer and am using a Broadcom b/g card :)

Good luck!
