DIY: flexing keyboard fix | rocking chassis fix (pic)

I know a lot of you have an issue with your keyboard flexing inward along the top row of keys (most pronounced at the extremes). The solution in the other thread involved calling Lenovo and ordering their recently revised sturdy 'board. That'll work for a lot of people, sure, but if you would like to fix it yourself now follow these three instructions.

Supplies:
-old cutting board, coffee can lid, etc...
-super glue, double sided tape, etc...

1.)Follow this guide to remove your keyboard. LINK
2.)Cut some thin strips of plastic and fasten it in these four places with glue (or double sided tape). Let it dry.

3.)Reassemble your keyboard and bolt it back down.

Hope that helps. If you also have a problem with the laptop rocking towards the front right corner, I might be able to help you out there as well.

1.)A test first, not the fix: Open your x200 and press firmly down on the front left corner. Verify the rocking stops (the front right foot is now on the ground).
2.)If that's the case (and it was for me), try sanding the front left rubber foot down where it actually contacts the table. It is important to take your time! Take some fine grit sand paper and sand off a few layers of it at a time. Test it out frequently! I visually inspected how much closer it got to the table after each run and sure enough the gap slowly closed to nothing.

My x200's keyboard is now solid as a rock and it no longer rocks back and forth. Attempt any of this at YOUR OWN risk. Not mine!
