Audio volume

#1 Post by JimL » Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:51 pm

From the day I bought this T42 used, the maximum speaker volume has been a small fraction of what my 770E put out under W98. Some low-volume web sites can't be heard at all. I've been all through volume settings, channel settings, etc., repeatedly. Is this likely a hardware problem?

Thanks

JimL

I don't have a T4x system in the stable right now, but as I remember when I did, the speaker volume just wasn't enough for me to use it as a media player. Maximum volume on the T4x was about equal to a minimum setting on my A31P (my preferred media machine). And my 770X and 600X both have much better speaker volume than the T4x. So, it's likely a hardware limitation.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

I'd like a nice new 18.95 inch ThinkPad! :lol:

Thanks
