HELP! PowerLeap Ctrl Panel & Cache Utility prog probs 770Z

#1 Post by eloqutus » Sat Jul 18, 2009 8:36 pm

Hey All :help: !

All I NEED to be able to do at this point is enable the L2 cache on the 650MHz, P-III, MMC-2 CPU that I have upgraded to on this
TP 770Z. The problem is—when I attempt to install PowerLeap CPU Control Panel v5.1.0.0.1—I get the following error dialog box during the installation process:

Powerleap CPU Control Panel Setup

An error occurred during the move data process: -113
Component:
File Group:
File:C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~1\Temp\WZS8.tmp\data1.hdr

The program doesn’t crap out until after you make a selection from the “Select Upgrade installed” dialog box which has the following 16 items from which you MUST choose 1 item (and I have tried items 1 & 2):

None - I’m looking for an upgrade
Other
PL-54CMMX
PL-586
PL-IP3 1.0
PL-IP3 2.0
PL-IP3/T
PL-K6-III
PL-Neo
PL-Neo/T
PL-0D54C
PL-P4/N
PL-Pro/II
PL-ProMMX
PL-ProMMX Plus!
Renaissance Series

Then, after choosing from the above list—and AFTER you click on the “Next” button at the bottom of this list—the error presents itself; seemingly regardless of what selection you previously made via the afore-mentioned “Select Upgrade installed” choices.

This is the exact same error as the one SGypsyMermaid was getting
(see http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... xe)—except that I can't rectify my problem the way SGypsyMermaid did by following PKiff's instruction to d/l PowerLeap Cache Utility (at http://www.powerleap.com/downloads/util ... tility.zip) because the link is dead :( .

Would someone PLEASE help me to get my L2 Cache going via some kind of software means; maybe someone has an older version of PowerLeap CPU Control Panel and/or Cache Utility that they would share with me. This is a desperate  for :help: !

Sincerely,
eloqutus

If you PM me your email address, then I can send you a copy of the cacheutility that I've been using.

Phil,

Thanks for the Cache Configuration Tool; it really seems to have done the trick in getting the L2 cache on my 650MHz CPU initiated as evidenced by the Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility, and by CPU-Z!
