buying questions (french canadian keyboardS)

#1 Post by kimmitanto » Mon Jul 20, 2009 10:26 pm

Hello everyone,

Another newbie here! 8)

I was looking at the lenovo canada website as I'm interested in buying a Thinkpad, maybe a SL400.

When you configure the laptop, whichever you choose, you have 3 choices of keyboards, the English US, and 2 French Canadian. I'm interested by the french keyboard, so I was wondering what is the difference between the "Canadian French Keyboard" and the "Canadian French (58) Keyboard", if there is any? If anyone has pics to compare it would be perfect.

Also, another buying question. When you choose the OS, it doesn't specify if the OS is 64bit. Is there a way to make sure? Because if you can only choose 32bits, I won't upgrade to home premium to get the free upgrade, I'll keep home basic and buy a full Windows 7 later.

Thanks a bunch! :)

If it doesn't specify I'd presume it's 32 bit.

thanks for your answer

I suppose it is... I'll call Lenovo directly and ask them if any vista is available in 64 bits with a SL series laptop. At the same time I suppose I'll ask them about the keyboards.

Thanks
