EIST doesn't work in win7?

#1 Post by thomasc » Tue Jul 21, 2009 12:39 am

I use CPU-Z for monitoring frequency and my processor is in max. multiplier (x8) all the time - Intel C2D L7500 (1,6). I have tried to change all power plans (in both windows and lenovo power manager) and their settings, but no success. EIST is enabled In BIOS. My build of win7 is 7201. Is it a bug or "feature" in win7RC or should I install any special driver or update?

(X61 tablet 7767-BFG)

Thanks

I assume you have thinkpad pm driver installed?
Some people i know reported the same problem. Probably a bug.
By the way, you may try build 7600...

still unsolved, maybe newer build can help, but now, I'm back on stock Vista SP1 and it has the same behaviour as before in win7, CPU-Z still shows me full speed, but voltage is changing in time from 0,9 to 1,1V...strange. I have used system update and install all recomended and critical updates, thinkpad PM driver (1.53) and power manager (2.50). Thanks

Use RMClock and set your own power settings - that what I'm doing and it works great (on my X32, Win7 RTM)

If anything it seems to be a bug in CPU-Z.
