Ok... I had to make a thread simply because I don't feel like some of the questions I searched for were quite the right answers. Anyway, I finally received my x61 Tablet. It had Vista on it and I went though the setup and then for some reason the password I picked and fingerprint wasn't enough to allow me to log in... I decided to reformat thinking I'd just start over. Well, it turns out the restore disks apparently isn't Vista... I guess it's XP. Although on the bottom of the laptop it says Vista. Am I missing something or do I really not have Vista?
My other question is about the Touch, do I have to use my fingernail or press really hard because that's the only way it seems to work for me. A bit disappointing if so.
Thanks for the help in advance.
New x61 owner, needs a bit of help.
Re: New x61 owner, needs a bit of help.
Obviously you have X61 with vista installed and XP downgrade recovery discs supplied as an option to downgrade to XP if for some reason you happen not to like Vista. As for Vista recovery disc, you should burn it yourself as soon as you start to use your computer (there is an option to do that). But alas it is no option anymore for you as by installing XP you erased Vista installation. So the only possibility to get Vista back is to ask Lenovo for recovery media for Vista.
As for fingerprint scanner there is no reason why you should apply pressure. Fingerprint software on ThinkPad contains good tutorial that you should look to learn how to use the scanner.
Hope this helps!

Darn... I guess I could do that. Wish they would've specified that before I played around with it. Oh well.Eudoxus wrote:So the only possibility to get Vista back is to ask Lenovo for recovery media for Vista.
Ok, sorry, should've clarified a bit more. I'm not talking about the fingerprint reader. I have the XGA display where you can use the Pen or Touch. I'm talking about the sensitivity for the touch part of the screen's features.Eudoxus wrote: As for fingerprint scanner there is no reason why you should apply pressure. Ok, amazingly I was able to resolve the Vista problem. I guess for the Using my finger instead of the pen it's just not going to work out as well as I hoped. I was expecting more of an iPod Touch characteristc...
Edit: Oh, just realized this is the wrong section... I have an x61 not t61.
