Questions about X200S ultraconnect antenna and screen

#1 Post by alins » Thu Jul 23, 2009 9:56 pm

Does anybody know what are the differences between the Ultraconnect II 2x2 and 3x3 antennas?

Also, I would greatly appreciate comments on X200S WXGA+ and WXGA screens. I am leaning towards the WXGA which is 125 ppi, rather then the 140 ppi WXGA+. However the WXGA+ is LED backlit, and hence more power efficient. Would there be a noticable difference in battery life between these screens on two otherwise identical laptops? From what I've read I don't think there is much difference in image quality, both being TN panels, and the WXGA+ 25% brighter than the WXGA.

Thanks very much

From what I have read there isn't too much of a difference in battery life but LEDs do have much better longevity. I would opt for the LED screen simply for that reason.

The difference between the antennas is related to simultaneous data streams and physical antennas (it's wireless-n related). 3x3 is becoming commonplace for newer wireless-n cards.
