does a PC100 RAM work in T23?

I have got a broken T20 and so I took out the RAM stick (PC100-222-620 CL2, 128MB) and put it in a T23 Laptop. The T23 gives me the beep 1-3-3-1 beep code and I recognized this code as bad memory module.

Does this really mean that this RAM stick is bad or is it just a simple fact that a PC100 RAM stick doesn't work on a T23 laptop?

PC100 RAM does NOT work in a T23, it requires PC133 RAM.
