Dual Boot in Ultrabay

#1 Post by chazpraz » Mon Jul 27, 2009 1:50 pm

Hi...I have a T61 running WinXP. I can boot to a second WinXP drive running in the Ultrabay slot. However, looks like the second drive always defaults to D: which causes conflict with a lot of software.

The second drive was formatted with a standard XP image, wondering if it could have been pre-formatted with D:. Anyone thoughts? Thanks a million.

Hi chazpraz,

Did you image the second drive while it was in the Ultrabay? If you did, that is probably where the problem ls. I would try installing the 'second drive' in the main hdd bay in the laptop, boot off a disc in the Ultrabay, and image the drive from a USB drive. Put the 'second drive' back in the Ultrabay, the 'first drive' back in the main bay and see what happens.

Hope that helps.

Are you running two partitions with XP? There can only be one C:\ drive for a computer. What sorts of issues are you having?
