R60 LCD replacement option?

#1 Post by Domenic » Thu Jul 30, 2009 2:41 pm

Dear Forum,

I am looking into replacing a damaged LCD on my R60. The specifications to the 15" XGA LCD in place is a LG Philips LP150X08 (TL)(A8) P/N 13N7123.
What compatible, most affordable LCD screens are available for the R60? New or used is fine. Suggested reputable merchants? Thanks.

You can look on the LCD parts page to get part numbers for the R60 LCDs. A quick search on eBay using the part number will get a some hits, though I've no idea how reputable they are. Post over in the Marketplace forum you're looking for a screen. Someone may have an extra.

Thanks Fred. Not all ebay auctions use FRU in their description but they may still be compatible. For example, would a LP150X08 (A3) LCD be compatible? The specifications I am able to gather for this example indicates it is a 15" XGA with a 2-pin inverter cable and a 30-pin data connecter. This matches my LCD. However I am not sure what the difference is between an (A3) vs (TL)(A8) designation. I am hoping the forum members and their experience can confirm what I need to look for in terms of compatibility. Thanks.

My advice would be to not buy a non-FRU LCD.
