DVI for T42 with a flat panel monitor ?

#1 Post by kobepm » Mon Feb 07, 2005 11:38 am

Greetings.

I am about to buy a T42 (2379R9U) and plan to add a flat panel monitor to use as my main screen when the laptop is docked. As the T42 only has an analog output..is there any way to convert the signal to digital for display on the separate monitor?

Also, any recommendations on a flat panel monitor in the 19/20" range?

Many thanks.

The dock, where you'd put your Thinkpad on, already has a DVI.
Written behind a T42, 2373-9UG.
1.8GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD, ATI-MR9600 64MB GPU, SXGA+ LCD, a/b/g WiFi, CD-RW/DVD

Yes, the mini-dock has DVI-out. Check this forum for known limitations with the IBM drivers and ways to bypass these issues using driver tweaks.
