Screen brightness does not adjust when resuming from sleep

#1 Post by dfumento » Sat Aug 01, 2009 1:11 pm

Running Win7 RC with Lenovo Win 7 beta drivers. The only problem is that when running on battery and resuming from sleep it goes to full instead of half brightness. Is there a suggested fix? TIA

I had this problem with switchable graphics enabled. I also would sometimes resume to no screen and need to sleep and resume again to get it back. I switched to a single card in the bios and it worked fine again.

This is probably the same issue I am having with RTM with switchable graphics. He means that you disable switchable graphics in the bios and pick either the Intel or the Discrete graphics option as a default.

I have disabled switchable and selected discrete graphics as my default since I am docked most of the time. This is the only way I can get my dual monitors to work. Also, I downloaded the latest ATI drivers from ATI for Win 7 (date of mid-Aug..can't remember exact), not Lenovo.

Another thing I discovered...until I disable switchable graphics in the bios, I do not get the option to have my DVI monitor as my default either. I have to disable, save and exit, enter the bios again and then the option is available....sigh....

I intend to wait until the full release to the general populace, wait a bit for new drivers and try again......sigh....again
