x41 Battery Not Charging and Battery Hack?

I have a x41 IBM Thinkpad laptop 2525 6NU laptop runing XP Pro SP3 and the battery is not charging. The battery is stuck at 24% and the green battery stratus icon is on all the time. I'm not sure if it's my motherborad or my battery has been damaged. (The battery infomation however dose show up so I can tell what type of battery it is and everything like that) Howevrer, I can't recharge it anymore. The Laptop has been pluged in almost 99% of the time for several days. When I run the reconditon software the laptop shows the icon then it goes in to sleep mode after sevral mins.

I was just wondering is this issue just realated to XP Pro SP3? How about other operating system do they have the same probblem too?

What about the docking sation? Is the battery desinged to be charge with the dockingsation added on to this laptop or withount the docking sation added on to this laptop? Or dose it matter?

I read on some forum that IBM laptops need the COSMO battery charged to recharge the main battery. I'm not sure if that is a probblem on my laptop or not. My comptuer keeps track of the date and time so I don't think this an issue.

On a side note has any preformed a battery hack on there laptop? What type of battries should I buy? Any websites?
