DVD/CDRW fit in R52

#1 Post by emeraldgirl08 » Sun Aug 02, 2009 10:34 pm

Will this:

UltraBay Slim DVD/CD-RW Model: GCC-4242N-R4, FRU: 39T2675

fit and work in my R52?

I've gone to the Lenovo site and can't find anything that says a definite "Yes!"

I also have the Hardware Maintenance Manual and it doesn't show any listing of this model on it. One is close to it and I'm thinking if it fits and came from an T43- it should work right?

Let me rephrase this:

Are slim devices compatible with Enhanced bays?

Yes, but they leave a small space around them. Will work perfectly well, though.

Ty George :)

I did notice on the top part of the bay there is a black rubber duster. I thought this might be a little camouflage for the gap.

At any rate I'm very glad to hear that :D
