Customize Keyboard Function on my T42

#1 Post by rocketman » Mon Feb 07, 2005 4:56 pm

Am I incorrect or can I map a key on my keyboard to open an application? Under "Customize Keyboard Funtions" there is an "application key" choice, can I set one of the choices to open Outlook?

The Application key is that key on Win-Keyboards which is between Windows Key and Control on the right side, because ThinkPads don't have Win-Keys it is a Hotkey to replace it. If you have a Windows Keyboard it's that key, where you have a Mouse Pointer with a submenu open.

Let us not forget Windows with it's rather comfortable build up, put an icon on the desktop, properties, shortcut, and put a hotkey.

I've customised mine to compensate the absence of Windows Key(r), Ctrl-Alt-D for desktop, Ctrl-Alt-F for Firefox etc.

Another alternative:

With this tool you can remap the blue Access IBM button, which is quite useless in the default configuration for just opening the Access IBM application.
