Excel file that lists all LCD monitors' DPI, width & height

#1 Post by pianowizard » Tue Aug 04, 2009 4:26 pm

I had way too much free time and so I generated an Excel file listing the pixel density (DPI), physical width and physical height of all LCD panels that I am aware of. This file also allows you to calculate these values for any random diagonal length and resolution. Feel free to download it here.

This list shows that the LCD with the lowest pixel density is the 27" 1920x1080 (81.59 DPI), whereas the highest is the 8" 1600x768 (221.85 DPI).

UPDATES:

ver2, 2009-08-11: added 13.7" 1280x1024 (Thinkpad 770Z), 16.0" 1920x1080 (e.g. HP HDX 16t Premium), and 16.1" 1280x1024 (e.g. IBM 9516-Bxx)

ver3, 2009-09-11: added 11.1" 1366x768 (e.g. Sony TZ series)

ver4, 2009-12-29: added aspect ratio column, 27" 2560x1440, 16" 1600x900

ver10, 2011-01-09: added the recently introduced 12.5" 1366x768 panel

Thanks ... I had done something similar, but with much less data.

Now I just need to get my hands on an L220x ... it's the only monitor that really makes sense as an external with my X200s.

I am sure this file is useful to at least a few people on this forum, so I am bumping this thread!
