Adding eSATA to my thinkpad

#1 Post by jlee87 » Tue Aug 11, 2009 12:14 pm

Hey guys, I just wanted to share this on here. I documented the entire process on my blog: http://skub-neutral.blogspot.com/2009/0 ... how-i.html

I should first mention that this was somewhat of a failed experiment with limited success, I'm hoping someone here could provide their opinions on what the problem is and any other things to try.

Thanks!

Why not consider a short expresscard -> esata module? e.g. http://global.ebay.com/Short_e-SATA_II_ ... 62279/item
Golden oldie: ThinkPad 600
Workhorse: ThinkPad T400
Buddy: ThinkPad T400s
Scapegoat: Quanta KN1

I did. I bought one and found out that it's not possible to boot off of it as a second SATA controller is not recognized in the BIOS. I made a note of it in the blog.
