T43p Windows 7 RTM (7100) ultranav

#1 Post by hberg32 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:07 pm

Has anyone gotten the Ultranav to work on a T4x on the RTM build of Windows 7 (7100)? I've installed the system interface driver and the ultranav utility from the Lenovo Win7 beta driver page but no dice.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the amount of hardware that was recognized out of the box (I lump stuff from Windows Update into that category), even the fingerprint sensor + bluetooth work. Performance seem to be quite good, definitely better than my thoroughly windows-rotted XP installation.

The Lenovo Win7 beta drivers generally don't support T4x machines. I suggest you uninstall the Win 7 driver and install the XP or Vista driver (depending on your machine).

Wow, am I STUPID! I was clicking next-next-next through the ultranav installers forgetting that the Lenovo "installers" don't install, they just unpack files into c:\drivers.

*sigh*

However, the Vista 32 bit drivers did work once I, you know, actually installed them.

Thanks,
Henry
