Desktop icons moved after lid is closed and re-opened?

#1 Post by johnnydotexe » Fri Aug 14, 2009 3:57 pm

I have my resolution currently set to 1440 x 900, and when I close the screen lid and re-open it...any icons along the bottom or right edge are moved towards the center of the desktop, as if the resolution drops when screen lid is closed and goes back to the set resolution when screen lid is opened. This isn't so much a problem, just a severe annoyance.

Is there any way to fix this, apart from not placing icons in those areas? I have the up-to-date ATI x1400 driver installed and an up-to-date LCD driver installed.

Thanks for the link, going through that thread right now to see if any of those solutions work for me.

Fixed.

Solution = Right-click My Computer, left-click manage, double-click Services and Applications, double-click Services, left-click the Standard tab, right-click ATI hotkey poller, left-click Properties, change from automatic/manual to disabled, reboot computer since the service can not be manually stopped. No more screen flicker on bootup when the desktop is loading, no more re-arranged icons when lid is closed and re-opened. Yay!
