t30 2366fbu mousepad error causing no power up?
hey guys.
my left mousepad button has been sticking. well finally got stuck. i lost keypad functionality.
tried to restart laptop-no joy. read the archives, removed the mousepad from the motherboard and whala, laptop powers up. my problem is it only powers up once. i have to remove battery, charger, and keyboard(and reconnect) for it to power up again. is this normal. does the motherboard need to see an input from the mousepad to power up the second time or do i have to dig deeper. laptop functionality is good when powers up(posting from actual laptop).
thanks in advance, gery

Ah, I bet if you disconnect the touch pad the option disappears. It normally would be there though. I'm scratching my head on how a touch pad being disconnected could cause a power issue on the laptop. Try replacing it, you need a new one anyway.

ok guys. all is well. i got the touchpad. put it on and now i can power it up and works fine with another keyboard. prior to touchpad replacement it stopped powering up, even with another keyboard. so basicly i replaced the touchpad(original problem-button sticking) and keyboard. good to go.
harryc, you are right on the touchpad option in bios. when i connected it i got the option back.
thanks guys, gery
