T400 or T500 ?

i planing to buy thinkpad.
Are T400/500 latest than T60/61..is there any separate series for T6* also ?
currently which one is the latest T model ?

and as for as T400 and T500 concern , which one i shd prefer ?

The T400/500 is the latest 'T' series. You'd choose a T400 over a T500 if portability is a main concern vs a desktop replacement. The T400 is smaller/lighter.

Yes.

Compared to T400, the T500:

* Is bigger and heavier (about 300g)
* Has higher resolution screens (WSXGA+ 1680x1050 vs WXGA+ 1440x900)
* Has more powerful GPU options (Radeon HD3650 vs Radeon HD3470)
* Has DisplayPort output
* Has totally ridiculous USB port placement with all three being on one side and vertical
* Has plush 6-cell battery and somewhat extending 9-cell (the 9-cell on a T400 extends a whole freaking lot)

Maybe a couple of other things I forgot.

Not sure if it's available where you order from, but the WXGA+(1440x900) TFT, w/ CCFL Backlight is a better LCD. Also I like the Intel 5300 WiFI better.
