I'm running this on a W7/Ubuntu dual-boot. I'm thinking maybe because it's W7 it's just not cooperating. I've looked at Lenovos website and don't see a way to perhaps put this on CD or a flash card and boot from those. I see something for a floppy drive but only have an floppy device that will fit in a T30. I've also searched around the internet but I'd prefer asking fellow Thinkpadders who have more experience with things like this

Force Embedded Controller install?
I have updated my BIOS for my R52 to the latest version. I attempted to update the embedded controller and I get some type of prompt that my computer needs to be restarted. I restart it and nothing happens. From what I've read the Installation process should continue at this point- but nothing happens. The lappy works fine still but I still would like the EC to be updated to match the BIOS.

Re: Force Embedded Controller install?
Looks like you either need a WinXP installation or a USB FDD to run the EC update.
