Overclock ThinkPad W500 CPU in BIOS

#1 Post by Turnyface » Wed Aug 19, 2009 10:02 pm

Does anyone know if it's possible to overclock the cpu - in my case, T9900 - in the BIOS of the W500 laptop? If not, is it possible to flash my BIOS to a previous version or a third party BIOS? If none of these work, does anyone know what the PLL of the Motherboard is in the W500 so I can use SetFSB? I'm looking to get it to at least 3.33 GHz. Thanks for the help in advance! :)

It is not possible to overclock the CPU from the Lenovo BIOS. It is probably possible to use a third party BIOS, but I will be very surprised if you even find one at all, let alone with the features you are looking for.

But as far as SetFSB goes I can't help you there.
