Dvd player question

#1 Post by Me2 » Sun Aug 23, 2009 2:19 am

I have a cd-rw/dvd player on my R61e. I tried to play a dvd with both windows media player and intervideo windvd. Intervideo windvd wouldn't play it and told me something about copy protection so I looked and on the dvd case it says This dvd is copy protected and may be played only on licensed devices. Windows media player keeps telling me that it isn't enabled to play dvds and to use intervideo windvd. Is there a way to get it to play? Do I need something to make my computer a licensed device?

Try using VLC media player. You can download the installer from here:

I hope this works.

WMP Player doesn't play DVDs out of the box. You'll need to add a codec, but your probably best off using another player. VLC is one option. Media Player Classic is another if you don't like VLC.
