Took the plunge, ordered a T500

#1 Post by ThinkPuzzles » Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:59 pm

Hi everyone! :D
I've been reading the forum for awhile now, but this is my first post. I've been too busy to keep up with the world of technology the last couple of years, so I was stunned to learn that it was impossible to buy a new Thinkpad (or any other laptop) with a 4:3 aspect ratio LCD unless I wanted to buy used. After much thought and research, I decided to buy a T500 with these specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8800 (2.66GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2)
3 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
160 GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB with Intel Advanced Management Technology
15.4" WSXGA+ TFT, w/ CCFL Backlight
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim (Serial ATA)
7 in 1 Media Card Reader
Express Card Slot & PC Card Slot
UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)(Don't need fingerprint reader)
No integrated camera
Integrated Bluetooth PAN
Intel WiFi Link 5100 (AGN) with My WiFi Technology
6 cell Li-Ion Battery
Windows XP Pro SP3
3-year depot warranty

I'm pretty excited about it!  However, I discovered after placing my order that I missed out on the free integrated camera offer! I decided I didn't need one but would have gone ahead and gotten one had I noticed that they were being offered at no charge.

Does anyone know how easy it is to change one's order? I ordered this evening around 7 p.m. Eastern time.

Other than that, this looks like a nice community. Good to be here!

Most likely they'll make you cancel and reorder. Good Luck.
