My mother-in-law is looking for a basic laptop, 14"-15" XGA only lcd with a hard drive, ram and ac adapter to learn on.

Looks aren't that important (good lcd though) but is has to work well...........

Also there is a low budget (?) for this.........

Maybe someone can help me out on this.
