X200 won't stay off

#1 Post by Jimbro727 » Tue Aug 25, 2009 2:49 pm

I'm having a very odd problem. My X200 won't stay off. It appears to power off fine, then within a few seconds, powers itself back on. If I put it in any other power state (such as suspend), it does the same thing. It will suspend properly, then within a few seconds, it will resume. Nothing I do seems to keep it off. I believe this started after the other day I accidentally let it completely die (forgot to plug it in and walked away for a bit during a large file transfer), and the bios reset, and asked me for the date/time. I've disabled wake on lan, but that didn't help.

I'm running Gentoo linux, not that I think this is a software issue, but I figured I'd mention it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I had the same problem a few months ago, and the only solution I found at the time was to clear the CMOS by removing the BIOS battery. Take a look here: http://forums.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.p ... 02&start=0
