Drive for this

#1 Post by vt102 » Wed Aug 26, 2009 6:09 pm

So, I went through the forum post about the 2010 error and what drives are compatible on the wiki and such. But, for the foremost i've seen about 40-50 serial numbers and no real true 'compatible' list that i can go out, find on ebay buy and throw in this laptop i've aquired from a friend. If you have any models 100% confirm to work, i'd really be appreciative, i'd love to get this little thinkpad working again. I was thinking maybe going for a ST9120821A or a HTS541080G9AT00, not sure which one will work out of the box or that i'll find one on ebay that will work out of the box. If you guys have any pointers/drives for sale that WILL work, let me know or point me in the right direction, most of the posts are from 06 and the drives are not available anymore.

Welcome to the forum!

Fujitsu MHV2120AH (120GB/5400rpm) and MHV2100AH (100GB/5400rpm).

Expect to pay the premium...but these drives are well worth it if you own a T43/p or R52 IMHO.

Good luck.

I found an MHV2100AH for pretty cheap on ebay hopefully the firmware matches up enough that it doesn't cause me any major headaches.

thanks again, and thanks for the welcome!

No headaches with these drives whatsoever. I've installed about 50-60 MHV2120AH disks in T43/p units, never an issue.
