Should I upgrade my RAM

#1 Post by Padhead » Sat Aug 29, 2009 8:37 pm

Hello friends, I have a T60 Flexview. Should I go from 2MB to 3MB?

My PC usage characteristics: I ussually ony have about ten mozilla windows open, plus one Yahoo IM, Yahoo online music , and a virus running. Will it be a noticeable upgrade?

Thanks!

Long time no post...how have you been?

At today's RAM prices you'd be crazy not to upgrade IMHO.

Thanks George. Glad to be back on the forum.

At one point I had 3MG, but one of the sticks bugged out, and had to be discarded.

Now I am unemployeed so every penny counts. Thanks for your input.

Do you think I should be commited or would community-based treatment be more appropriate?

I think I should be committed because I run VMs on 2G. Not to mention my users who must toil on PCs equipped with 256M...

So my demented advice for the penniless is nutrition > memory upgrades.

With 2 MiB? Windows 3.1 would be painful, much less Vista.

On a more serious note, 2 should be fine for your usage pattern. Myself, I really need 4+, but that's with an IE window open with a memory leaking streaming video, Opera open with 20-60 tabs, and a bunch of other apps open.
Current: 365XD (120 MHz, 72 MiB, 6.4 GB, 4x CD-ROM, 10.4" TFT)
Past: T61p 15.0" QXGA, T60p 15.0" QXGA, X61 Tablet SXGA+, R51e 14.1" XGA, X21
