an interesting, revealing and very short test

#1 Post by BillMorrow » Sun Aug 30, 2009 7:53 pm

Very Short, But Revealing Political Quiz

So, you think you know where you stand, politically. Think again. The result from this short test may surprise you and give you some food for thought.

You'll be asked just 10 questions, and then it instantly tells you where you stand politically. It shows your position as a red dot on a "political map" so you'll see exactly where you score.

The most interesting thing about the Quiz is that it goes beyond the Democrat, Republican, and Independent.

The Quiz has gotten a lot of praise. The Washington Post said it has "gained respect as a valid measure of a person's political leanings." The Fraser Institute said it's "a fast, fun, and accurate assessment of a person's overall political views." Suite University said it is the "most concise and accurate political quiz out there."

Click on the link below...

http://www.theadvocates.org/quizp/index.html

then you can take the poll above and show where you landed..

you can also comment but no fair "poisioning the well" by saying anything revealing about the test..
and i won't tell where i scored..
it might surprise some.. :)

Okay, as a self-avowed apolitical type, that was pretty fun! :)

The quiz classified me as a Conservative-leaning Libertarian. No surprise to me.

Unfortunately, only in the US is "Liberal" = "Left". Not true in other civilized countries. In a proper test, I score in the middle (Liberal for decades). ... JDH

Not quite all the way in the "Right" Centrist here, pretty much what I expected, but probably not what I would be labeled by most.

So I guess I'm a Right Wing Centrist

Ron, I think it means that we are all pretty much in the same boat with only a few degrees of separation. But at times degrees might be high on the farenheit scale :)

The test concluded that I'm a Liberal. In my own country I mostly identify with the conservative right-wing parties

Centrist, slightly to the left. That's about what I would've expected. I think people often villify government control more than they should, but I also believe the government wants to have a hand in almost everything, which isn't right either.

Sadist here... Apart from this, I did a little experiment, once choosing between all 3 options (agree-maybe-disagree) and once being strong and choosing only "agree" or "disagree". In both cases the result was exactly the same. So, what is my political position provided I tend to give good amount of "maybe"-answers, though not to everything? A free cool song for the first one who guesses is exactly :)

Cheers,

IMO, politicalcompass.org is a little better.

Personally, I subscribe to the Libertarian/Utilitarian schools of thought.

Left for me.

I knew I would score on the left hind side things, but tend to agree with Libertarians on a lot of other topics. I guess it marked me as left when it came to the whole free trade thing.

I prefer everything to made in the USA and sold to others, not vice versa. Hard to argue with ridiculously cheap labor and manufacturing in other countries though, tariff fees be [censored].
