#1 Post by snickervicker » Wed Feb 09, 2005 6:47 pm

My old T20 doesnt keep system time anymore, I'm guessing the CMOS battery is dead, but I dont know how to replace it. is there some documentation somewhere about how to do that? Im not even sure how to get to it or what battery it takes. thanks.

i THINK its under the memory door in the bottom..
a standard button battery..
to be certain, get the HMM (Hardware Maintenance Manual), a link is on my thinkpads.com web site..

it will show the location and part numbers..

The CMOS battery is the yellow-coated circular battery with the red and black wires underneath the system battery.

BUT - to be sure you know what you are doing - follow Bill's advice and get the HMM.
