X32 problems

I want to reinstall the OS on my daughter's X32.

The recovery partition is no longer available, so I have to rely on a CD.

I have an external CD drive that connects (verified through the device manager) but doesn't show up in Explorer.

Any ideas?

Is this a USB CD drive?

If you can see it in the Device Manager, delete it there. Unplug the CD drive, reboot then plug it in again.

If you will rebuild the OS, then it really doesn't matter whether the current OS image sees it or not. When you reboot, pressF12 and see if the CD drive is in the boot list.

I've reinstalled the OS and downloaded and installed the latest drivers.

All is well, EXCEPT I can't get the wireless (Intel 2200BG) to work. I've tried reinstalling the adapter and the driver. I'm sure my router is working because I can successfully connect other devices wirelessly.

Help, please.

You have to run the package install wizard. Just installing the driver will not do.
