Amount of Hard Disk Space Taken From Windows?

#1 Post by stephens241 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 1:36 pm

If possible, can someone post the amount of disk space taken up by Windows Vista Ultimate, and, if possible, Windows 7, in combination with all the ThinkVantage software, on the ThinkPad machines?

Many thanks for any response.

It's around 20gb for both Vista and Windows 7 (with ThinkVantage software). This does not include things like virtual memory, system restore, etc because these things vary from machine to machine.

Thanks for your reply. As an aside, a Lenovo representative told me that Windows 7 "should take" about 1/4 the space of Vista, which I mention as but one example of a lot of weirdly misleading and/or less than useless information provided by the telephone salespeople at that shop. Several years ago, the phone help for the ThinkPads was surprisingly well-informed. Lenovo are you listening?
