Lenovo Battery recall (T60/T61/R60/R61/X60/X61)

LENOVO RECALLS THINKPAD BATTERIES
Lenovo has issued a battery recall. Fortunately, the batteries are not being recalled due to safety concerns. Rather, they are faulty and don't work correctly. Users may receive messages such as "Battery cannot be charged."
The recall affects batteries in six ThinkPad models. Lenovo has a diagnostic tool on its site. If you own a ThinkPad, visit Lenovo's site. If your battery is defective, Lenovo will issue a replacement battery.

Eureka! My T61p has a new battery! Wonder why I didn't hear this directly from Lenovo? I didn't see any notice about this particular recall in this forum -- my apologies if it's old news to everyone else.

That's the problem, the recall is so old it's been talked about here years ago. It's good information though to bring up once in awhile.

I knew there were recalls a few years ago ... but I got my machine in March 2008, and I didn't realize there was a recall since then. Thanks.
