W500 using lower resolution on start up? WHY?

#1 Post by Greg Gebhardt » Wed Sep 02, 2009 2:51 pm

Just upgraded my W500 with the Corsair 256gb SSD using the restore disks made from the hidden partition. Everything is perfect with no error messages and is blazing fast in comparison but I have one thing to solve.

When I start or restart my W500 when the desktop first comes up, the icons are very large, like if you had set it to a very low resolution. After another 10 seconds it blinks and goes to the correct resolution and all is well except my icons have been jumbled which is due to trying to cram them on the desktop at the lower resolution.

Any suggestion as to stopping this? Maybe a display driver? It did not do this on the convertional hard drive so I am sure it is not a hardware problem.

Help me with suggestions please :?:
