Hi Folks,
I just modded catalyst 9.8 and put it on my T400 (yay!). However, now it seems that catalyst is no longer automatically detecting displays. It used to be that, when I had an external monitor plugged in and then removed it and opened my laptop, the display would intelligently switch to my laptop's LCD. Now, however, I have to manually tell the displays to switch in Catalyst Control Center. And display detection seems a little hobbled in general. Anyone else come across this? Any known workarounds or solutions?
thanks,
allie

modded catalyst 9.8 on T400 - not auto-detecting displays
Re: modded catalyst 9.8 on T400 - not auto-detecting displays
What is your BIOS setting?
In the BIOS under Display, you can choose which display device ThinkPad should use from booting.
Choose DVI might be the solution you are looking for.

thanks - i think i figured it out, by setting ATI to clone monitors, even when i don't have another monitor attached.
