Aquired a T23 - Is this hard drive compatible?

I just bought a used T23 recently and I'm looking to upgrade the 40GB hard drive to something a little bigger.

I'm looking at a Western Digital Scorpio WD1600VERTL (P-ATA 2.5"). Before I get one from J & R, does anyone know if this drive has the proper connections to go in this computer?

I think 160GB would be enough for my needs on the T23. Better than being crunched with 40GB.

I hope so. Guess I'll try and get that one then. I always had good luck with Western Digital drives for years. I had them in a tower I used to have, and have one in the T61 for over a year or so and it works great.

PATA drives are getting more and more difficult to find. So it's a good idea to grab them while you can, if you are going to extend the life of an older Thinkpad. I may have to order one too.

Good thing I just ordered one of these. Hopefully the connectors are correct.

If it's specified as PATA, Parallel ATA, IDE or EIDE, then yes it will connect properly.

It is specified in the description as a PATA so that looks good. Will find out when it arrives.
