hot t41 sxga+ normal? ( with t42 instalation)

Hi,

I recently swoped my t42 (ati 7500 xga, 725) with my brothers t41 (not t41p, ati 9000, 1.7 GHz). I just swtched the harddisks and upgraded the graphic and wlan driver.

Now the t41 is running seriously hot, and the battery life is quite a bit worse than the t42.

Is this normal?
Any drivers I shoudl check? Anything to check in the registry?
What are the alternatives short of a new OS install from scratch?
Besides the ibm tools I have a rather old NHC version on it ( with centrino in its name)... could this be the problem?
Any suggestions?

Please correct your email in the forum profile section. Uninstall NHC and reboot. Does the fan now come on more frequently? Run cooler?
