15" LCD panel and cable assembly for IBM Thinkpad R51 1829

A few months ago the LCD panel of my IBM Thinkpad R51 1829EM2 started showing 4 vertical lines of different colors, purple, turquoise, brownish and white (which is only visible against black background). When connected to an external screen, those lines do not appear, hence pointing my suspicions to problems with the LCD panel itself and not the Video Card or the motherboard.
A quick run to a local PC shop however couldn't conclusively narrow down the problem to the LCD panel only, as the shop did not have the correct parts for the R51. The technician there also found that the parts (LCD panel and the cable assembly) numbers for my IBM Thinkpad are rather different from the ones stated on the Lenovo Service Website:
-LCD Cable Assembly: 91P6823 for 15" XGA TFT (instead of FRU 91P6826 on the Lenovo Service website)
-LCD Panel: LP150x09 (A3) (K1), not sure how to relate this to the FRU 92P6678 (Samsung) or 92P6679 (LG)

I am hoping someone can help set me in the correct path to find the suitable parts. Also would other R51 model (e.g. 1840) panel and cable assembly fit into my R51?

Please note that IBM uses P/N as well as FRU numbers for the same part, that are always different.
Yours is a 15" XGA, which should be readily available from any other 15" XGA R5x model.
