T30 cant connect to wireless after fresh install help please

#1 Post by DanDLT » Sat Sep 05, 2009 5:01 am

my t30 was hijacked the other day. i was not able to save it this time.
i was able to copy files to other computer before it finally died.

so i got xp pro installed fresh.

but im having trouble again getting the intel pro 2915 agb wireless minipci network card to work wireless, it took me forever the last time to get it working and in dont remember how i did it.

i remember i had to do the no 1802 fix and i think another one. and i remember i was never able to get it to work with the ibm access connections..

im really getting frustrated trying to get it working , reinstalled several times so far
i also noticed one of my memory chips is not being recognized.
ibm fixed this last time. here it is again.
can i send this to someone who knows what theyre doing and fix it for me?
do i update to sp2 first then install driver for the intel card?
do i need to run the no 1802 fix?
im using the linksys wrt310n router
im using the latest driver for the card

i can connect to net via plug but not wireless..

thanks for any advice
thanks
dan

Unless you update the BIOS, you don't need to repeat the no-1802 and no-01C9 hacks.
Let Windows manage your wifi-access, uninstall Access Connections.

Install both SP2 and SP3.
Then re-install the wifi driver from the Intel-website.
Check that your router transmits in the G-band.

Look for T30 RAM problem posts, it's been described too many times to start this all over again.

ok heres where im at
reinstalled xp new
uninstalled access connections
upgraded to sp2
upgraded to sp3

but computer dont see my intell 2915 card,
in device manager under network adapters i see bluetooth lan access server driver
(this must be my bluetooth i put in, need to get that working too)
and i see Intel Pro/100 VE Network connection
but i dont see the intel 2915
and
just below i see a yellow question mark next to "other devices"
i have the driver for the card i tried running it, it says finished but nothing happens because computer dont the the hardware for it.

i also tried add new hardware and opted to run from disk but i put in disk it dont see it and i cant run it from the copy i have on the desktop
also tried add hardware and searched for the 2915 card in the Intel list but dont see it in there...

im plugged into my router and i can get on internet
but the task bar has a icon with an red X over it
and it say local area conncetion 2
a network cable is unplugged --- but it IS plugged in

so im stuck on getting the wireless 2915 connected.
whats my next move?
thanks in advance anyone
