nmb keyboard swap & PN for a w500 - anyone done it?

#1 Post by meeotch » Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:19 pm

Has anyone successfully swapped an NMB keyboard into their w500? I'm typing this post on my old T42, and it's like the keyboard is made of chocolate covered Milla Jovovich. It's almost distracting, it's so comfortable. I looked up the FRU# for w500 keyboards:

and there seem to be two "series". The lower chart is identical to the listing for the T61:

the upper chart seems to be unique. I'm assuming the third column is the NMB FRU#, by analogy to the T61 chart. Does anyone know for sure which of these FRU#'s is for the NMB keyboard?

Also - suggestions for a good source for this part? Google turns up plenty of options, but I don't want to order it, get the wrong thing, and then end up fighting with the supplier.
