Docking Station startup problem

#1 Post by revcp » Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:25 pm

Thinkpad T400 (6475 BQ8), 3 Gb memory, Vista Business 32, sp2.

I'm very frustrated with docking on an advanced mini dock. The system seems to go into hibernation after boot and prior to startup. I get the "Microsoft" splash screen on the external (DVI) monitor (the one with the green "LED"s moving across the little rectangular box), but after that the machine goes into hibernation and I get the "No Signal" message on the external monitor. I'm thinking it's a power setting problem (I've adjusted the global settings to "do nothing" when the lid closes), but can't figure it out. Anyone experiencing something similar?

Figured it out. The computer was fighting with a bad usb WD external drive. Now my docking setup works, but I have the challenge of figuring out how to recover all that data. Sigh.
