Fresh out of Box X200s (WXGA+ / LED) issue

#1 Post by benjet » Wed Sep 09, 2009 8:56 pm

I have something weird on my fresh out of the box X200s (with LED based WXGA+ screen)

While actively using the computer the screen seems to go into a battery conserve mode - screen goes form full bright to 1 bar of brightness - OSD shows the same, then within seconds it returns to normal. This looks as if it were a power mgmnt issue but it's occuring while I'm typing, scrolling, etc. not when it's supposed to be (when it's not being used).

Happens every few minutes, and it's mighty annoying.

Any ideas?

Did you check the timers in Power Manager?

I have, and will do so again, but there would have to be a setting in milliseconds as it literally happens while I'm typing.

My R60 was dimming the screen too after a few minutes. Turning off dim screen in the Power Manager timers section fixed it. I'm not sure if your issue is the same.

All settings were on max performance still only occurs on battery power and while actually typing/scrolling, not pausing.

Full bright to full dim and back in 1.5 seconds.
